Remote Installation of Repositories

From the Git Updater Settings Page there is a tabbed interface for remote installation of plugins or themes. You may use either a full URI or short <owner>/<repo> format. The URI is case sensitive, so make sure the repo name is correctly entered.

You must set the branch of the remote repository that you wish to install. The default is master.

When installing from a self-hosted git installation you must use the full URI. Also note that many self-hosted repos always require authentication and can mimic being private.
